Xi Jinping declares 14th China Games open

On September 15, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the 14th National Games in Xi'an (Shaanxi Province, Northwest China) and announced the opening of the sports festival.


The All-China Games, which is known as the Chinese "Small Olympics" and has been held every four years since 1959, is the largest sporting event in China.

The opening ceremony began at 20:00 at the stadium of the Xi'an Olympic Center, when the guard of honor brought the state flag to the stadium to the sounds of the song "Ode Motherland". Then sports delegations from all provinces of the country officially entered the stadium.

After raising the state flag and welcoming speeches by the leaders of Shaanxi province and the country's sports department, Xi Jinping officially announced the opening of the 14th National Games at 20:40.

complexity 54 sports, 595 events, of which 35 sports and 410 sports events are for professional athletes, and the rest are mass sports programs.

More than 12,000 athletes from all provinces, cities will take part in the competition central subordination, autonomous regions, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as the country's sports associations. Games will continue until September 27.
