World Aquatics Championships in Qatar postponed to 2024

The tournament was originally supposed to take place in 2023.

The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has announced the postponement of the FINA World Championships in Qatar to January 2024. This was reported by the press service of the organization.

Initially, the tournament was supposed to be held in 2023. However, FINA has postponed the 2022 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan to 2023 due to circumstances related to the coronavirus.

Committee of the World Championships in Japan have agreed to postpone the 19th FINA World Championships to July 14-30, 2023. Therefore, the 20th World Cup in Qatar will now take place in January 2024. These decisions were made in the interests of all participants,” said FINA President Hussein Al-Musallam.

The last FINA World Championships were held in 2019 in Gwangju (South Korea). The 2025 World Championship will be held in Kazan.
