Winners of the Games in Beijing presented for state awards

Dmitry Chernyshenko and Igor Levitin presented state awards to winners of the Olympic Games in Beijing.


Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenkoand Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitinhanded over the silver and bronze medalists of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing with state awards. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday in the Kremlin.


Medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 1st class, were received by Irina Avvakumova, Irma Makhinya, Evgeny Klimov and Danil Sadreev (all  ;- ski jumping), Ruslan Zakharov, Daniil Aldoshkin and Sergey Trofimov(all skating), Timur Bilyalov, Alexander Samonov, Alexander Nikishin, Sergey Telegin, Damir Sharipzyanov, Vladimir Tkachev, Vadim Shipachev, Vyacheslav Voinov, Stanislav Galiev, Artur Kayumov, Arseniy Gritsyuk, Kirill Semenov, Nikita Gusev, Alexander Elesin, Dmitry Voronkov(all - hockey), I Lya Burov, Sergey Ridzik (both - freestyle), Semyon Elistratov, Konstantin Ivliev (both - short track), Irina Kazakevich, Svetlana Mironova, Uliana Nigmatullina, Kristina Reztsova, Maxim Tsvetkov (all - biathlon), Alexandra Trusova (figure skating), Ivan Yakimushkin (cross-country skiing).


Medals of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" II degree were awardedVic Wild (snowboard),Angelina Golikova b> (speed skating), Tatiana Ivanova (luge), Eduard Latypov, Alexander Loginov and Karim Khalili(all - biathlon),Vladimir Morozov, Evgenia Tarasova (both figure skating), Anastasia Smirnova (freestyle) and Alexander Terentiev (cross-country skiing).


The ceremony was attended by hockey players from CSKA Moscow and Metallurg Magnitogorsk, who won silver medals at the Beijing Olympics. On Tuesday they will play the fifth match of the final series of the Gagarin Cup. The  roster of the Russian team at the Olympic Games included CSKA players Ivan Fedotov, Nikita Nesterov, Sergei Andronov, Mikhail Grigorenko, Pavel Karnaukhov, Sergei Plotnikov, Anton Slepyshev, and also Metallurg hockey players Artem Minulin, Yegor Yakovlev and Andrey Chibisov.


Later on Tuesday, the President of the Russian Federation will award the champions of the Beijing Olympic Games with state awards.


The Beijing Olympic Games were held from 4 to 20 February. The Russian team took ninth place, winning six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals.
