Young athletes from 10 countries will come to Vladivostok

10 countries have confirmed their participation in the Children of Asia Games in Vladivostok.


Ten foreign countries have confirmed the participation of their athletes in the VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia", the head of the Games Directorate told reporters in Vladivostok on MondayElmir Valitov.


"In the current difficult situation, ten countries have been "confirmed" in our country. These are Armenia, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and two more countries — Mongolia and Kazakhstan. These are the countries that have been paying some attention to our country for many years and in the sports part, and are conducting a stable, understandable policy. Many countries, of course, refused to participate. We didn't expect some of them," he said ElmirValitov.


According to the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Primorsky Krai Zhana Kuznetsova, preparation of all sports facilities in Primorye is being held as planned. All available sports complexes are involved. Now they are being brought into compliance with the regulations and will be ready by the start of the games.


"We have passed all the qualifying competitions in almost all sports. The national teams of Primorsky Krai number one and number two have been formed. The first team is 180 people, and the second is 120," the minister added.


The International Sports Games "Children of Asia" were established and held for the first time in Yakutia in 1996 in honor of the centenary of the modern Olympic movement. The organizers postponed the VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia" in Yakutia in 2020 due to coronavirus. The last time the Winter games "Children of Asia" were held on Sakhalin in February 2019 and gathered participants from 20 foreign countries.


The VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia" will be held in Vladivostok from July 27 to August 8, 2022 on behalf of the President of RussiaVladimir Putin. The Games are held with the support of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as the Olympic Council of Asia. The competitions are organized under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee and UNESCO.


The program of the games includes badminton, basketball, boxing, kurash wrestling, beach volleyball, judo, athletics, mas-wrestling, table tennis, swimming, bullet shooting, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, archery, taekwondo, dance sports, futsal, hapsagai, rhythmic gymnastics.
