Vladimir Putin: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrei Rublev confirmed the leadership of the national tennis school with medals.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the members of the Russian tennis team Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrey Rublev medali-olimpiady-v-smeshannom-razryade/">who won gold medals in mixed doubles Olympic Games in Tokyo. The telegram was published on Sunday on the Kremlin website.

“With your victorious performance, you inscribed another bright page in the history of elite sport and convincingly confirmed the leadership position of the national tennis school. <...> Special words of gratitude to the coaches, mentors, specialists of the national team, your team comrades      all who supported you on    provided a spectacular Russian final   , he noted.

The Russian team took first place in the medal standings in tennis at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning one gold and two silver medals. Five sets of awards were played at tennis games. The gold medal in the mixed doubles was won by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrey Rublev, with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (7:5), 13:11, who defeated Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev in the final, who, in their turn, brought the Russian team a silver medal. The Russian team, which has 12 gold, 19 silver and 13 bronze medals, is on the fifth line of the overall medal standings.
