Vaccine warehouse appeared in Tashkent region

Thus, the Government of Uzbekistan intends to ensure better safety of medicines.

Thanks to the cooperation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the first warehouse for vaccines equipped with modern refrigerators was opened in the Tashkent region.

The new object can accommodate about 31 thousands of liters of vaccines, and its volume is 440 cubic meters. The warehouse has two refrigerating chambers, which maintain a constant temperature. It is noted that the new warehouse is twice as large as previously built in the country.

“When it comes to vaccine safety, supply and logistics management plays a very important role. Ensuring the smooth functioning of this cold store in the coming years is due to the work of qualified personnel and the Government's commitment to invest in the management and maintenance of this system,” said Sasha Graumann, Head of the UNISNF Office in Uzbekistan.

of Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of Tashkent region and manager of the Expanded Program on Immunization of Tashkent region Nasiba Tairova emphasized that vaccination against 12 infectious diseases is currently being carried out, coverage is 98-99%. 

She also added that in 2002 Uzbekistan received a certificate of polio eradication, in 2017 the country defeated measles, and in 2018 - malaria.
