The first Olympic glory park in Russia has opened in Kemerovo

The Olympic Glory Park was opened in Kemerovo as part of the forum "Russia is a sports power". The Olympic cedar alley was planted in the new park, a TASS correspondent reports on Thursday from the opening ceremony of the facility.

"Now we are planting an alley in the park," said Sergey Tsivilev, the governor of Kuzbass. — Many years will pass, these cedars will grow, and they live for 400 years, and young people will come here and be proud that they touched the legends of Russian sports."

Russia's first Olympic glory park with an area of about 50 hectares is located in Kemerovo on the banks of the Tom River and unites two major sports facilities on its territory — the largest ice palace "Kuzbass" for 6 thousand spectators built last year in the Urals and the multifunctional sports complex "Kuzbass Arena" with a game hall for 7.5 thousand spectators. On the territory adjacent to the sports facilities, there are zones for walking and recreation, and the embankment has been landscaped. The creation of the park was approved by the Russian Olympic Committee.
