Uzbek taekwondo player Ulugbek Rashitov became the Olympic champion in weight up to 68 kg.


Uzbek taekwondo fighter Ulugbek Rashitovdefeated Briton Bradley Sinden in the final fight in the weight category up to 68 kg at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Turks became bronze medalists Khakan Rechber and Chinese Zhao Shuai.

Ulugbek Rashitov 19 years old. He also won the Youth Olympic Games.

For the national team of Uzbekistan, this medal was the first at the current Games. The leader of the overall standings is the Chinese team, which has six gold, one silver and four bronze medals. Next come the teams of Japan (5-1-0) and the USA (4-2-4). The Russians are in fifth position (1-4-2).
