Athletes from 14 countries will participate in the Children of Asia Games

Athletes from 14 countries will participate in the VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia", which will be held from July 27 to August 8 in Vladivostok. This was announced on Wednesday in the TASS press center by the coach of the Russian national teams in the SFOVeronika Taidakova.

"As of last night, four more countries have been added: Lebanon, Malaysia, Jordan and Pakistan. In total — 14 countries," she said Veronika Taidakova.

Athletes from Armenia, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Mongolia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan confirmed their early participation in the competition. Eight teams from Russia will participate — from Moscow, Yakutia, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Primorsky Krai, three teams will represent the federal districts — Siberian, Far Eastern and Ural. In total, about two thousand athletes will take part in the competitions.

According to the deputy head of the Directorate of the games "Children of Asia"Mikhail Sivtsev, the largest team among the participating countries was the national team of Uzbekistan - about 200 athletes will compete in 18 sports. Mikhail Sivtsev also clarified that most of the participants will be represented in the sambo tournament, where 17 teams will compete.

The VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia" will be held in Vladivostok on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Games are held with the support of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as the Olympic Council of Asia. The competitions are organized under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee and UNESCO.

Competitions are held among athletes under the age of 16. The competition program includes badminton, basketball, boxing, kurash wrestling, beach volleyball, judo, athletics, mas-wrestling, table tennis, swimming, bullet shooting, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, archery, taekwondo, dance sports, mini football, hapsagai, rhythmic gymnastics.
