Tokyo prepares for the Paralympic Games

On the eve of the Paralympics in Tokyo, a service was opened to repair prostheses and wheelchairs. 


The special equipment of the athletes will be serviced by about 100 employees in the service center in the Olympic Village, as well as at 14 stands directly on the competition grounds. Services include tire replacement and welding.

XVI The Paralympic Summer Games will take place from 24 August to 5 September. They will be held without spectators due to anti-covid restrictions, however, the head of the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee Seiko Hashimoto did not rule out that local schoolchildren would be allowed to attend the competition.

More than 4,000 athletes from all over the world will take part in the Paralympics. They will compete in 22 sports, including swimming, table tennis, fencing, basketball and taekwondo.
