The giant symbol of the Tokyo Paralympics, scheduled to open on Tuesday, has been delivered to Tokyo Bay.

The object was installed on a barge at the Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo on Friday morning. The symbol of the Paralympic Games, painted in red, blue and green, is over 23 meters wide and over 17 meters high.

It will remain in Tokyo Bay until the close of the Paralympics on September 5 and will be illuminated daily from 7 pm until 5 am.

However, officials in Tokyo are urging people not to visit the place where the symbol is installed and admire it through media platforms.

The authorities resorted to this step because the Japanese capital has a regime coronavirus emergency. The rapid spread of the infection threatens the local health system.
