The Japanese became the youngest "triple" champion in shogi

Fujii Sota became the youngest shogi player in history to achieve three major professional titles in this Japanese chess-like board game.

Fujiiachieved this result at the age of 19, breaking the previous record set by Habu Yoshiharu. Habu became the owner of all three titles when he was 22 years old. 

On Monday in Tokyo, Fujii won the final match with one of the current champions Toyoshima Masayuki. The next game will take place in October, when Fujiiwill fight against Toyoshima for the title of champion in another rank.

If Fujii wins, he will become the youngest player ever to win four major titles, the highest number of contemporary shogi athletes.
