The first group of Russian Paralympic athletes arrived in Beijing

Alpine skiers, sledge hockey players and snowboarders arrived in the capital of China.

Russian alpine skiers have become one of the first Russian athletes who arrived on Friday for the Games in Beijing and have already settled in the Paralympic Village. This was reported to TASS by phone by the head coach of the Russian national alpine skiing team among people with lesions of the musculoskeletal system Alexander Nazarov.

“We arrived in Beijing at 15:50 local time. Upon arrival at the airport, they were tested for coronavirus. Now settled in the village, waiting for test results. We boarded the plane in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and flew to China with a stopover in Vladivostok, where we were joined by sledge hockey players,” said Alexander Nazarov.

Together with skiers and sledge Russian snowboarders also arrived in Beijing as hockey players on Friday.

The Paralympic Games will be held in Beijing from 4 to 13 March. Russian athletes will take part in all sports included in the program of the Games. A total of 78 sets of medals in six sports will be played.
