Tajikistan became a co-founder of the Central Asian Fencing Confederation

The country joined the organization registered in Uzbekistan and uniting six states.


The confederation headquartered in Tashkent was headed by the chairman of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov. The structure will improve this sport in the countries of the region, contribute to the growth of the popularity of fencing and raise the level of professional athletes, reports Sputnik-Tajikistan.

In addition, the tasks of the newly created body, which included Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan , Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, will be - the organization of regional championships among athletes of different ages, holding sports training camps, seminars and master classes for coaches and referees. 

One of the first competitions to be held under the auspices of the Confederation will be the Central Asian Championship among juniors and cadets, which will be held mid-February in Tashkent. In May, it is planned to hold a championship among adult fencers.
