Tajik tennis player Anastasia Tursunova successfully performed at the tournament in Baku

Despite the fact that the young athlete did not win prizes, her performance can be considered successful. As Abdurasul Mukhiddinov, the captain of the Tajik national team, noted, Anastasia did not have enough experience to win. He clarified that Tajik tennis players began to take part in international competitions only in the last 2-3 years and have not yet managed to gain significant experience. It is still difficult for athletes to participate in tournaments of such a high category. 

The Solidarity Championship held in Baku belongs to the third category according to the classification of the International Tennis Association (ITF). At the same time, experts remind that in May, 18-year-old Anastasia Tursunova became the winner of the ITF international tournament of the fifth category, which was held in Dushanbe. In the final, she defeated Russian Alena Kurbanova with a score of 6:2, 7:5. 

Athletes from Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iraq, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, the Maldives and a number of other countries. The tournament was held for the second time. It was organized within the framework of a memorandum signed between the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation and the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
