Sakhalin snowboarder will go to the Paralympics in Pyeongchang

Sakhalin snowboarder Vladimir Igushkin will perform at the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, reports Sakhalin-Kurils with reference to the regional Ministry of Sports.

Vladimir was born in Poronaysk. He started snowboarding professionally in 2015.

The sportsman has already become a two-time champion of Russia in parasnowboarding and a repeated participant in the World and European Cups. This will be the first Paralympics in Vladimir's life. This year Igushkin performed under a neutral flag. Now he will represent Russia at the Paralympics.

According to the athlete, he has a fighting spirit, although the fight will be serious, and there will be serious competition from representatives of the United States, Canada, Holland, New Zealand and other countries. Vladimir hopes that the excitement will not prevent him from performing well.
