Russian athletes will take part in the marathon in Kyrgyzstan.

Russian athletes will be able to take part in the Run the Silk Road Issyk-Kul marathon, which starts on May 14. At    meeting ambassadors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries on Friday, said the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin.

< p> “Yesterday we signed a confirmation that our athletes will take part [in the marathon on Lake Issyk-Kul]”, said Oleg Matytsin.

Within the framework of the tenth international marathon Run the Silk Road, races for various distances are planned - a marathon (42 km 195 m), a half marathon (21 km 97 m), distances in & nbsp; 10 km, 3 km, Nordic walking for 3 km and 10 km. Since 2021, the marathon has been qualifying, which makes it possible, if the standards are met, to get a ticket to the Asian Games, the World Championship and the Olympic Games.
