Russian judoists will take part in the Grand Slam tournament in Ulaanbaatar.

Russian athletes have registered to participate in the Grand Slam Judo tournament in Ulaanbaatar. This was announced on Saturday by the International Judo Federation (IJF).

The tournament will be held from 24 to 26 June. Russian and Belarusian judoists will compete in neutral status under the flag and anthem of the IJF.

"Judo is an educational sport," the IJF president saidMarius Wieser. — He teaches values such as respect, friendship, courage, mutual assistance. Judo has always sought to avoid political interference or any form of discrimination against athletes or any other representatives of judo. In our philosophy and communication, we often call ourselves the global judo community, the judo family, and this is based on the very principles that guide us — friendship and respect."

On March 2, the IJF announced that Russian athletes will be able to compete at international competitions under the organization's flag. On March 14, the press service of the Russian Judo Federation reported that Russian judoists suspended their performances in competitions under the auspices of the IJF and The European Judo Union (EJU).
