Russia and India plan to expand sports cooperation

India and Russia are working on updating the agreement in the field of sports.


India and Russia is working on updating the bilateral agreement in the field of physical culture and sports by including mass sports, sports science, education, training of sports personnel and exchange of coaches. This was stated to TASS on Tuesday by the Minister of Sports of the Russian FederationOleg Matytsin.


He recalled that this year marked the 25th anniversary of the signing of the interdepartmental Agreement in the field of physical culture and sports between Russia and India. "Now my colleagues and I are working on updating this document to include mass sports, sports science, education, training of sports personnel and sports reserves, exchange of coaches, specialists," he saidOleg Matytsin.


The Russian Minister is on a visit to New Delhi. He has meetings scheduled with his Indian counterpart Anurag Thakur, President of the National Olympic Association Narinder Barta, representatives of the Indian Association of Universities.


A meeting of the Presidium of the 8th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNESCO Convention against Doping in Sport will also be held in New Delhi.
