Russian Paralympic athletes will receive 4 million rubles for the gold medal of the Tokyo Games.
Russian athletes will receive 4 million rubles for a gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Pavel Rozhkov, Acting President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (PKR) reported this to TASS.
“Paralympic athletes receive the same amount as Olympians. Nothing new, since 2006 the prize money is the same as that of the Olympians. And prizes, and scholarships, and for second or third places. 4 million rubles will be paid for the gold medal, 2.5 million rubles for the silver medal, and 1.7 million rubles for the bronze medal,” saidPavel Rozhkov.
Paralympic Games in Tokyo will be held from August 24 to September 5. The Russian delegation to the Paralympic Games included 432 people, including 242 athletes. Russian Paralympic athletes will take part in competitions in 19 sports out of 22 included in the program of the Games.
