Participants of the marathon "Europe-Asia" will run the distance at night

The third of four starts of the Europe-Asia international athletics marathon in Yekaterinburg will be held at night in compliance with all safety measures due to the coronavirus. A limited number of people will be able to take part in the 3 km and 10 km races due to the pandemic, event organizer Andrey Utkin told TASS.


On July 14, Rospotrebnadzor in the Sverdlovsk region banned events for more than 500 people. The main stage of the Europe-Asia marathon, which was supposed to take place in August, was postponed to 2022 due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation. - Utkin said. - We offered the participants two distances to choose from - 3 km and 10 km. 3 km run along the embankment, without blocking the streets, we do not interfere with anyone, we observe all security measures. And at 20 :00 (18:00 Moscow time) - main start".

Before the race, participants will receive starter packs with a number, a T-shirt and a headlamp. At the finish line, the runners will be awarded medals with the possibility of engraving their result and name.

Since 2014, the annual international athletics marathon "Europe-Asia" has been held in Yekaterinburg. Routes of all distances run in the central and historical parts of the city, marathon runners also run to the "Europe-Asia" stele.
