Oleg Matytsin and Sergey Tsivilev headed the organizing committee for the preparation of the "Children of Asia" games in 2023.


Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and the Governor of the Kemerovo Region — Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev have been appointed co-chairs of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia", which will be held in 2023. This is stated in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, published on Thursday on the official Internet portal of legal information.


The organizing committee also included Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Airat Gatiyatov, Director of the Department of Budget Policy in the Social Sphere and Science of the Ministry of Finance Svetlana Gashkina and Deputy Minister of Health Andrey Plutnitsky. In total, the organizing committee included 20 representatives of various departments.


The II Winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia" will be held from February 23 to March 5, 2023 in Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk and Tashtagolsky district of the Kemerovo region. It is expected that 28 teams from 20 Asian countries, as well as from the regions of Russia, will become participants. The competition program included cross-country skiing, short track, hockey, snowboarding, alpine skiing, figure skating, ski jumping. At the initiative of Kuzbass, curling, freestyle, and speed skating are also included in the program for the first time. A special feature of the Games will also be the holding of demonstration and demonstration competitions in volleyball on snow and esports.
