The Far Eastern District is a strategic one for the development of sports in Of Russia.

The Far Eastern Federal District of Russia is strategically important for the development of sports in the country. This was stated by the Minister of SportsOleg Matytsin, whose comment on Thursday is quoted by the press service of the department.

From July 28 to August 8 in Vladivostok on behalf of the President of RussiaVladimir Putin is hosting the VII International Sports Games "Children of Asia".

"On behalf of the government, the Ministry of Sports of Russia, I am glad to welcome our colleagues and friends who have gathered on hospitable land in Vladivostok. It is no coincidence that the honorary right to host the Games was granted to the capital of the Far East, the region is strategic for the development of sports in Of Russia. There is a wealth of experience in holding large-scale forums, sports competitions, and training events. Here the Russian national team conducted the final stage of preparation before the Olympic Games in Tokyo and other international startups, all the fees were successful thanks to the excellent infrastructure and the support of the Primorsky Krai government," he saidOleg Matytsin.

The Minister added that Russia pays serious attention to building respectful relations between countries and peoples in the field of physical culture and sports. "As before, we are aware of the importance of direct and open dialogue between countries, peoples, athletes and coaches, we are committed to the principles. Our country hospitably opens its doors and offers to take part in competitions that have already proven themselves, as well as in new formats of open sports events. Such a representative participation of sports delegations in the "Children of Asia" gives confidence that we are on the right track and are educating a new generation through the true values of sports," concluded Oleg Matytsin.

It is noted thatOleg Matytsin and representatives of the delegations signed a number of bilateral documents. An action plan has been adopted to develop cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports between the Russian Federation and Mongolia for 2022-2024. The plan provides for joint training and sports events in such sports as figure skating, hockey, judo, boxing, fishing, freestyle and wrestling, student basketball, cross-country skiing.
