The match of hockey legends of Russia and Belarus in 2024 may take place on Lake Baikal.
The meeting of the legends of the Russian and Belarusian national hockey teams may take place on Lake Baikal in 2024. This was announced to TASS on Wednesday by the governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev.
"We will offer to hold a tournament. The match of the legends of the national teams of Russia, Belarus, we will also invite the teams of the LPR and the DPR, - said Igor Kobzev. "Our magnificent five legendary hockey players have already confirmed their participation in the next match here on Lake Baikal."
On March 8, a friendly match between a team of professionals and a team of the Irkutsk region took place on the ice of Lake Baikal, the meeting ended in a draw with a score of 6:6. The team of professionals consisted of Andrey Kovalenko, Alexander Yakushev, Alexey Kasatonov, Alexey Zhamnov and Vyacheslav Fetisov. They confirmed their desire to take part in the event next year.
