Japanese swimmer Yui Ohashi wins second gold at 2020 Olympics

American Alexandra Walsh took second place, her compatriot Kate Douglas was third.


Japan's Yui Ohashi won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the 200m individual medley.

The winner covered the distance in 2 minutes 8.52 seconds. The second place was taken by the American Alexandra Walsh (+0.13), the third was her compatriot Kate Douglas (+0.52). Athletes overcame the distance in all types of swimming (50 meters butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle).

Earlier Yui Ohashi won the gold medal of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 400 meters individual medley . She also has silver and bronze medals at the world championships. For Alexandra Walsh and Kate Douglas these medals were the first at the Olympics.
