Japanese swimmer Seto sets new world record

He swam the 200m butterfly in 1 minute and 48.24 seconds.

Daiya Seto of Japan set the world record in the 200m butterfly. The record was set at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. It is reported by TASS.

24-year-old Seto in the final heat showed the result of 1 minute 48.24 seconds.

London's Olympic champion Chad Le Clos came second, 0.08 seconds behind the winner.

The top three was closed by the Chinese Li Zhuhao (+ 2.15).

Russian Alexander Kharlanov finished fourth, 0.28 seconds behind third place.

The previous record (1 minute 48.56 seconds) belonged to Chad Le Clos from South Africa and was set in November 2013.

Daiya Seto is the bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympics in the 400 m individual medley, as well as a two-time world champion in the same distance.
