Japan Olympic Committee builds climate-friendly stadium

In 2020, Japan is set to host the Summer Olympic Games. Meanwhile, the Land of the Rising Sun has been hit by a heat wave this summer.

For more than a week now, the temperature has not dropped below 40 degrees in Tokyo and several other prefectures.

Organizers of a sporting event fear that climate change could affect the success of the Games. In this regard, it was decided to take into account the possibility of a sharp seasonal increase in temperature. Significant improvements have been made to the general architectural plan of the country's central Olympic arena, the construction of which has been going on for more than a year and a half.

So, the builders intend to make the roof of the complex wooden, and it will be arranged in such a way as not to interfere with the wind to maintain natural circulation air under the roof and thereby refresh the spectators of sports. In addition, humidifiers will be installed in all rooms, which will also help to significantly reduce the temperature and make the atmosphere pleasant for the public.
