The 2021 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held without spectators.


The stage of the Formula 1 World Championship in car racing in Azerbaijan will be held without spectators in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Baku-based Trend agency reports this with a link to the organizers of the Grand Prix.


In 2020, the Formula 1 race in Baku was canceled due to coronavirus, due to this, according to a source of the agency, acting before  ;2023, the contract for hosting the Grand Prix has been extended by one year.


The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on June 4–6. The season will open with a stage in Bahrain on March 26–28. The Russian driver Nikita Mazepin will make his debut in the championship, he will perform in the Haas team, his partner will be the son of the seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, Mick Schumacher.


In the summer, Baku will host three group stage matches and one of the quarter-finals of European Football Championship, which will be held from 11 June to 11 July 2021 . The Union of European Football Associations will decide on the format for admitting spectators on 7 April.
