Freestyle skier from China Gu Ailing became a two-time Olympic champion

Chinese freestyler Gu Ailing won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games in the halfpipe discipline.

In the best of her three attempts, the winner scored 95.25 points. Canada's Cassie Sharp came second with 90.75, followed by her compatriot Rachel Carker (87.75). The representative of the Russian national team Alexandra Glazkovacompleted her performance in the competition, failing to pass the qualifying round.

Gu Ailing 18 years old, earlier at the Games in Beijing she became the first Olympic champion from China in big air discipline and won a silver medal in slopestyle. She also has two gold and one bronze medals at the 2021 World Championships.

The leader of the medal standings is the Norwegian team (14 gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals), the Germans are second (10-7-5), third - the Americans (8-8-5). The Russian team is in ninth place (5-9-12). In terms of the total number of awards, the Norwegians are in the lead (29), the Russians are in second place (26).
