Football federations of Russia and Japan signed an updated memorandum of cooperation

The document provides for the expansion and strengthening of working relations, as well as the exchange of resources and experience for the promotion and development of football in countries.


The Russian Football Union (RFU) and the Football Association of Japan (JFA) signed a new memorandum of cooperation at all levels until 2024. This was reported by the press service of the RFU.

It is reported that the signing of the agreement took place in a remote format. The signed memorandum provides for the expansion and strengthening of working relations between organizations and the exchange of resources and experience for the promotion and development of football in the two states. It is noted that both federations are planning to organize joint educational courses, seminars and conferences, exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of construction and management of sports facilities, sports science and medicine. Special attention is planned to be paid to the training of coaches, referees and women's football.

“Today we re-signed a memorandum of understanding and partnership with Asia's leading football association,” said RFU President Alexander Dyukov. — The men's and women's teams of Japan are among the top three in the Asian region, and the women's team just recently won the World Cup. The memorandum will allow us to establish cooperation between divisions for the exchange of experience and the introduction of best practices for the development of football in our countries.”

Previously, the RFU signed memorandums of cooperation with partners from Germany, Italy, Spain, Serbia, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Argentina , Croatia and Portugal. On December 13, an agreement was signed until 2024 with the French Football Federation (FFF) on mutual understanding in the areas of technical development, training of coaches and instructors at all levels of football.
