They will be equipped with lighting equipment to receive air ambulance helicopters at night.

Today in Transbaikalia there are two such sites - in Krasnokamensk and Chita. Work is now underway to select territories for sites in each district, - the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Trans-Baikal Territory reported.

“The main requirement for the site is the location within a 15-minute walk from the central hospital. Each helipad will be equipped with lights, searchlights and windsocks,” said Ivan Shovdra, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

Each helipad will have its own air navigation passport. Specialists responsible for the operation of lighting equipment will also be trained, the ministry said.

By the end of 2018, it is planned to equip helipads at each central regional hospital in Transbaikalia.

As specified in the press -service of the Ministry of Health of the region,  since August 2017, the Trans-Baikal Territory has been participating in the federal priority project "Ensuring the timely provision of emergency medical care to citizens living in hard-to-reach areas of the Russian Federation", which revives the air ambulance service of the region.

In 2017, the Disaster Medicine Service received a modernized Mi-8 helicopter with a medical module. The radius of its flights covers the entire region.

In early March 2018, another reserve helicopter was received, designed, among other things, for the needs of air ambulance, which opens up new prospects for providing emergency care to patients from remote settlements.
