The first competitions at the Olympic Games in Beijing have started.
The competitive program of the Olympic Games was opened by the group stage matches of the double mixed curling tournament. The Olympics are taking place in Beijing.
On the first game day, the UK team defeated the Swedish team with a score of 9:5, the US team defeated the Australian team (6:5), the Czech the team turned out to be stronger than the Norwegians (7:6), the Chinese team defeated the Swiss team (7:6).
Ten teams will compete for medals in the double-mix. After the round robin, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals. The final and match for third place will take place on 8 February. The Russian team failed to overcome the qualifying round and does not take part in the tournament.
