Beijing Olympic Village welcomes first guests

Beijing 2022 Olympic Villages have started to work and begin to receive guests.

The Olympic villages of the Games in Beijing on Sunday started work and began to receive the first delegations. This was reported by China Central Television.

According to on the first day of work, more than 20 delegations came to the village, including from China, Australia, Canada, the United States , Finland and other countries. At the same time, the official opening of the Olympic villages will take place on January 27.

The Beijing Olympics will be held in three key clusters: in Beijing, in Yanqing Capital County and Zhangjiakou City in Hebei Province. In this for to host the Games, three Olympic villages  were built in each of clusters.

Due to strict anti-epidemic measures, all athletes, members of official delegations and journalists arriving from abroad will be placed in the so-called bubbles. This means that they will have to live, train, participate in competitions and rest only within zones specially designated for this purpose. Movement inside the "bubbles" is strictly regulated, and going beyond their limits is not provided.

That is why each of the  three Olympic villages is a small town where there is everything necessary for the life of athletes - banks, cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, souvenir shops , mobile phone stores, etc.

XXIV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing from 4 to 20 February 2022, and Paralympic Games from 4 to 13 March . The capital of China was chosen as the venue for the Olympics and Paralympics at the session of the International Olympic Committee in Kuala Lumpur on July 31, 2015. Beijing will be the first city in the world to host both the 2008 Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
