Athlete from Russia won the bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom

Bronze medalist of the Beijing Games Wild said that he was lucky to snowboard in Russia.

Two-time Olympic champion in 2014 and bronze medalist of the 2022 Games, Russian snowboarder Victor Wild considers himself lucky to have been involved in this sport in Russia for 10 years. Wild told reporters about this.

On Tuesday, Wild won an Olympic bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom. After that, the 35-year-old athlete said that he would decide whether to end or continue his career in a few days. He previously stated that he would retire at the end of this season.

“Life is wonderful, I live in Moscow and have I have my own business. I'm still in Russia, although I are often pointed out to that I'm American. I'm not married anymore, but I still here. For the last ten years I've been snowboarding in Russia, I consider myself very lucky,” said Wilde.

Until the 2011/12 season, the snowboarder played for the national team USA. After marrying Russian snowboarder Alena Zavarzina, Wild received Russian citizenship in May 2012. The couple divorced in 2021.

At the Sochi Olympics, Wilde won two gold medals in parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom. At the 2013 World Championships, he won a bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom.
