The guide, published in Ho Chi Minh City, is written in English and Vietnamese and contains detailed information on 14 healthcare facilities that were selected according to 24 criteria.

According to the City Health Department, the selection was made according to such indicators as the level of training of medical personnel, the quality of treatment and examinations, the price range of services provided.

Head of the Health Department Nguyen Thi Huyin Mai specified that services in public clinics and moderate prices in the private sector attract a large number of tourists to the country seeking quality medical care.

Many hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City use innovative techniques in areas such as cardiovascular surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, robotic surgery, dentistry.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, the publication was released in order to popularize Vietnamese medicine among foreign guests. According to him, despite the large number of "medical" tourists, the potential of the city in this area is still far from being used.

The publication will be distributed free of charge in travel agencies, tourist centers, hotels and medical institutions.
