Kyrgyzstan's military will take part in the following CSTO exercises

The head of the CSTO joint staff Anatoly Sidorov commented on the absence of the Kyrgyz military at the last exercises in Tajikistan.


Kyrgyzstan will definitely participate in the next CSTO joint exercises. This was announced on Friday by the head of the CSTO joint staff Anatoly Sidorov in response to a question from TASS about the absence of the Kyrgyz military at the last exercises in Tajikistan.

"Next time [the Kyrgyz military] will definitely participate," Anatoly said Sidorov. According to him, during the year, representatives of Kyrgyzstan participated in all training events, consultations, and staff negotiations. "That is, the whole complex of measures was carried out with their participation, but the situation was such that they decided [not to participate]," he shared.

The active phase of the joint exercises "Rubezh-2022" began on October 17 in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan took part in them. Kyrgyzstan did not participate in the exercises, having informed the CSTO secretariat in advance. The basis of the Russian contingent consists of servicemen of the Central Military District from the 201st military base. The total number of participants in the exercises is about 1 thousand people and over 300 units of military and special equipment, including airplanes, helicopters and UAVs. The theme of the exercises is the destruction of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
