The President of the Russian Federation congratulated the head of Turkmenistan on the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.


The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedovon the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the countries. The telegram was published on the Kremlin website on Saturday.

“The 2002 treaty marked the beginning of the current stage of interstate relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. The signing of this important document created the conditions for a qualitative build-up of bilateral dialogue and interaction in many areas. I am sure that by joint efforts we will ensure the further strengthening of the Russian-Turkmenistan strategic partnership. This undoubtedly meets the fundamental interests of our peoples, goes in line with ensuring security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region,” the telegram says.

The Russian leader wished the President of Turkmenistan good health and success, and all the citizens of the country - well-being and prosperity.
