Vietnam is interested in the supply of Russian vaccine "Sputnik V"

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi noted that many residents of the country want to be vaccinated against coronavirus with this Russian vaccine.

Vietnam is interested in the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine and the transfer of technologies for its production. Vietnamese Ambassador to RussiaDang Minh Khoi told reporters about this on Wednesday after a meeting with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.

“We highly appreciate the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V". We think this is a very good vaccine and there are many people in Vietnam who want to be vaccinated with Sputnik V. We are now advancing negotiations with the Russian Direct Investment Fund on the provision of Sputnik V for Vietnam, as well as the transfer of technology for the production of Sputnik V in Vietnam,” said a senior diplomat.

It was previously reported that Vietnam will negotiate with Russian Federation on the purchase of 40 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine. According to the proposal of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, approved by the head of government, the local company T&T will negotiate with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on the commercial supply of the Sputnik V vaccine in the amount of 40 million doses. The purchase will be carried out at the expense of the Vietnamese company's personal funds.

According to the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, the Vietnamese side had already reached an agreement with RDIF on the supply of 20 million doses of vaccine to the republic in 2021, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. Vietnam is also discussing with the Russian Federation the possibility of creating on its territory a plant for the production of the Sputnik V drug with a capacity of up to 100 million doses of vaccine per year.
