A military-historical conference was held in Rosgvardiya

The event was attended by the command and personnel of the units of the Central Military Commandant's Office and the Main Information Technology Center, pupils of the Moscow Presidential Cadet School named after M.A. Sholokhov of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, as well as students of the school "Commonwealth" of Moscow.

Thematic reports were delivered by the representative of the Scientific Center for Strategic Studies, Lieutenant General Vladimir Podrezov, Senior Researcher at the Research Institute (Military History) Colonel Andrey Klimov of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as the chairman of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans of the Law Enforcement Forces, Lieutenant General Pyotr Rovensky.

The speakers familiarized the audience with the goals and tasks carried out by the Soviet Army in Afghanistan, and also spoke in detail about the participation in combat operations of military specialists of the internal troops of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs and about the final stage of the military campaign – the withdrawal of troops to their homeland.

As part of the event, soldiers and officers became spectators of the literary and musical production "Vivat Shuravi!", prepared by the servicemen of the garrison club of the Central Military Commandant's Office to ensure the activities of the Rosgvardiya. As part of the production, a documentary film was shown, which reflects the stages of the Afghan war. The author's poem "Afghan Echo" was performed by the assistant chief of the garrison club, Captain Anatoly Valetov, and senior lieutenant Alexander Brykin performed the song "We are leaving".

Chairman of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans of the Law Enforcement Forces Pyotr Nikolaevich Rovensky, summing up the results of the military-historical conference, thanked the participants and expressed confidence that the current generation of defenders of the Motherland will preserve and multiply the glorious traditions of their predecessors.
