A killer whale with two cubs has been in the Amur River in the Khabarovsk Territory for four days. This is the first such case, said the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova.

"Amazing information came from the Far East. A killer whale with two cubs has entered the Amur River from the Sea of Okhotsk and has been walking from the village of Mago of the Nikolaevsky district to the village of Tyr of the Ulch district of the Khabarovsk Territory for four days. That is, killer whales are in the river," she wrote in her telegram channel on Sunday.

According to Svetlana Radionova, the killer whale and cubs are currently located just above the village of Mago. "We have never observed such a phenomenon! <...> None of the old—timers remembers this," she noted.

Svetlana Radionova also appealed to the residents of the Khabarovsk Territory with a request not to approach the killer whales, as both animals and people may suffer from this. "The service is monitoring the situation. Now we are waiting for the opinion of scientists, what is better to do in such a unique case. If the killer whales need help, we will do everything necessary to save them," she concluded.
