IT is planned to create educational IT centers in the Novosibirsk region

The goals of this project will be to increase the digital literacy of residents of the region, help in vocational guidance of schoolchildren and assist in the selection of educational courses and programs.


The authorities of the Novosibirsk region, an important role in the economy of which is played by the IT industry, plan to launch a network of educational centers in the field of information technology in large municipalities of the region. The task of the centers will be to increase the digital literacy of the population and career guidance work with schoolchildren, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the region told TASS.

"In 2023, it was decided to develop the concept of a network of educational IT centers in large municipalities of the region. The base of the IT centers will be the infrastructure of colleges, centers of additional education involved in the training and retraining of IT personnel," the press service reported.

The centers will implement projects to improve the digital literacy of residents of the region, help in vocational guidance of schoolchildren, as well as assist in the selection of educational courses and programs in the field of information technology. It is planned that the specialists of the centers will help the residents of the region both in person and through digital remote access platforms.

According to the press service, IT is planned that the IT centers will work with children and adults. The target audience is teachers, college teachers, as well as residents of the region interested in obtaining digital competencies.

More than 30 thousand people work in the field of information and telecommunication technologies in the Novosibirsk region. One of the most successful technopark in Russia operates in the region, which has about 300 high-tech companies.
