Tactical exercises "Cobalt-2022" have ended in Kyrgyzstan



In total, about 500 military personnel and 20 units of special equipment, including unmanned aerial vehicles, were involved in the exercises.
Tactical exercises "Cobalt-2022" with the participation of special forces of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) ended on Friday in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
"On August 5, 2022, the final stage of the CSTO tactical and special exercises took place in the city of Balykchy at the Edelweiss training ground of military unit 20636 "Cobalt-2022,“ the message reads.
According to the press service, during the exercises, special forces units from five countries "worked out training and applied tasks to search, block and neutralize gangs, terrorist groups." As well as the closure of drug smuggling channels, the discovery of caches, laboratories for the storage and production of narcotic substances.

"Secretary General of the CSTOStanislav Zas highly appreciated the activities of special forces formations. Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KyrgyzstanUlan Niyazbekov stressed that tremendous work has been done, combat training tasks have been successfully fulfilled," the message emphasizes.
The CSTO includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
