Kazakhstan remembers the exploits of the participants of the Battle of Stalingrad

Commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazi troops in the Battle of Stalingrad were held in Kazakhstan.
The Russian House in Astana has launched two virtual exhibitions dedicated to the Battles of Stalingrad on the website of the project "The Great Patriotic War: a Look from the XXI century". Everyone can get acquainted with the expositions "Kazakhstani warriors in the Battle for Stalingrad" and "Ice Loop of Stalingrad". The exhibition "Kazakhstani soldiers in the Battle for Stalingrad" can be seen today in the walls of the Russian House in Astana. These exhibition projects were prepared by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan together with the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Reserve (Volgograd) and the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora (Moscow).
Meanwhile, the D.P. Bagaev Pavlodar Museum also hosts an exhibition dedicated to the turning point of the battle of World War II. It is actively visited by citizens, it will be available until the end of February. A similar exhibition will soon open in Temirtau. There, in addition to exhibition materials, visitors will be presented with the concert program "Music of Victory", prepared by the Museum-Reserve "Battle of Stalingrad" together with the Volgograd Symphony Orchestra. The concert is based on previously unreleased musical works, which were transferred to the museum's fund by domestic and foreign composers in different years. Well-known works by Dmitry Shostakovich, Aram Khachaturian, Alexandra Pakhmutova will also be performed.
In addition, open lessons dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad and the Kazakhstani soldiers who took part in it were held in the schools of Temirtau, Astana, Aktobe and Taraz on the occasion of the anniversary celebrations. The lessons were organized by the Kazakhstan Pedagogical Club and the Russian House in Astana with the support of the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Reserve and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
"The materials of the Yeltsin Library, which today has one of the largest archives of digitized historical documents, are unique evidence of the participation of Kazakhstanis in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. Among the materials used in the lessons, there is, for example, a leaflet of the newspaper "Pravda" dated February 6, 1943, where an extensive article tells about the exploits of Kazakhstani soldiers on the battlefields. Schoolchildren were able to see the famous "Letter of the Kazakh people to the Kazakh front-line soldiers", the Russian-Kazakh military dictionary and even get acquainted with the songs of folk akyns about the Great Patriotic War, a collection of which was released in 1941. Russian Russian House Library in Astana has all these materials available today – last year we opened the remote access center of the Presidential Library named after B.N. Yeltsin," said Olga Skalchuk, Head of cultural and educational programs of the Russian House in Astana.
The commemorative events ended with an international online conference, at which the participants of the search teams of the public association "Atamnyn Amanaty" spoke. It was about preserving the common historical memory and coordinating the joint work of Kazakh and Russian search engines.
