Wind farms with a capacity of up to 315 MW will appear in Dagestan. This became known within the framework of the signed agreement between the head of the region Sergey Melikov and the CEO of Novavind JSC Grigory Nazarov, the press service of the head of the republic reported on Tuesday.

The agreement was signed for a period of 5 years.

"Wind farms with a capacity of up to 315 MW will appear in Dagestan. This is provided for by the agreement between Dagestan and Novavind JSC on cooperation in the field of wind energy development, which has just been signed by the head of the region Sergey Melikov and the CEO of Novavind JSC Grigory Nazarov," the message says.

It is noted that the agreement is aimed at developing the use of renewable energy sources in Dagestan, as well as cooperation in the implementation of projects for the construction of wind farms with a capacity of up to 315 MW.

Novavind JSC was established by Rosatom in September 2017 to consolidate its wind energy assets, including VetroOGK and VetroOGK-2. In February 2018, 49.5% of VetroOGK was acquired by the Gazprombank structure (MOEX: GZPR), at the beginning of 2021 Gazprombank entered the capital of VetroOGK-2, receiving 49.5%. In 2017, Rosatom also created the joint venture Red Wind, the shareholders of which were Novavind and the Dutch manufacturer of wind turbines Lagerwey. The joint venture supplies wind turbines for projects in Russia.
