Participants of the Donbass - Kuzbass motorcycle rally, which started on September 4 in Donetsk and connected two coal regions, overcame a route of about 5 thousand km and arrived in Kemerovo, the official website of the Kuzbass government reported on Wednesday.
"This is an important historical moment. What you have done is very important, first of all, for the residents of Gorlovka. In this difficult time for them, they should know: we are with them, we do not abandon our own and we will help with everything we need. With your motorcycle rally, you once again showed the inviolability of the miners' brotherhood of Donbass and Kuzbass," said Sergey Tsivilev, Governor of the Kemerovo Region, at a rally at the monument "Memory of the Kuzbass Miners".
More than 300 bikers from all over Russia took part in the motorcycle rally. They repeated the route that the miners of Prokopyevsk crossed on skis in 1935 to pass the banner of the Kuzbass miners to the miners from Gorlovka. Bikers drove through Gorlovka, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Ufa, Magnitogorsk, Kurgan, Omsk, Novosibirsk. In each of these cities, they met with young people, athletes, social activists and held patriotic actions. Now the bikers plan to drive through six cities of Kuzbass, where rallies with their participation will also be held.
Earlier, the authorities of Kuzbass reported that before the start of the motorcycle rally, its participants planted Siberian cedars in Donetsk Gorlovka on Friendship Alley, which were brought from Kuzbass. Now bikers have proposed to create a "Friendship Forest" in Kemerovo, their initiative was supported by the governor.
