The Gaza Ministry of Health has received a large shipment of medical supplies from the United Arab Emirates, including the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. The UAE State News Agency reported this on Thursday.

According to it, the convoy with cargo arrived in the coastal enclave through the Rafah checkpoint located in the southern part of the sector. After the delivery of medical equipment and anti-covid medicine to the Ministry of Health, the distribution of the cargo to all vaccination points in Gaza, which is already experiencing the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic, began.

According to the agency, this is the largest consignment of medical cargo delivered to the Gaza Strip during support of the UAE since the start of the pandemic.

The coastal enclave of 3.1 million people has reported 197,976 cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic, 189,473 people have already recovered, and 1,744 patients have died from the consequences of the disease, according to the latest data. . In total, in the State of Palestine with a population of 5.2 million people, according to the local Ministry of Health, 466,697 cases of coronavirus infection were registered, 439,810 people have already recovered, 4,805 patients have died.
