Tourists from China in January most often took tours to Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia were the most popular among Chinese tourists during the holidays on the occasion of the Lunar New Year. This is stated in a report published on Tuesday by the largest Chinese tourism operator .

During the weekend from January 21 to 27, Chinese residents most often purchased air tickets to Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Thai Chiang Mai, Manila and the Indonesian resort of Bali were also popular.

According to the portal, compared to last year's holidays, the number of purchased air tickets to Bali has increased 30 times in annual terms. In addition, the report notes an increase in hotel bookings in Bangkok — compared to last year, their number has increased 33 times, while the average price has increased by 70%.

After the removal of pandemic restrictions on outbound travel She has already launched about 700 group tours to 15 countries and regions of the world. There are about 10 tours to Russia among such products. So far, the operator offers trips only to Moscow and St. Petersburg with an average duration of seven to nine days. The cost of them varies from 12.8 to 26.3 thousand yuan (from 1.9 to 3.9 thousand dollars).

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China reported that from February 6, travel agencies and online companies of the country will be able to resume in an experimental mode the organization of outbound group tours and the "air ticket plus hotel" service for Chinese citizens in Russia and a number of other states. As Dmitry Gorin, Vice-president of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (PCT), clarified to TASS, before the pandemic, the share of Chinese tourists in the Russian segment of inbound tourism was at least 50%.
