Turkish Foreign Ministry delegation to visit Russia to discuss conditions for safe tourism

A delegation from Turkey may go to the Russian Federation to discuss the rest of tourists.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu did not rule out that a Turkish delegation could go to Russia to discuss the conditions for tourists to rest in the republic.

“Russia has imposed restrictions on flights with Turkey due to an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus. Mr. [President of Russia Vladimir]Putin talked about this by phone with our President [Tayyip Erdogan]. There is no political motive behind this,” the minister said on the air of the Haber Turk TV channel on Tuesday. “Last year, after the decrease in the number of cases of coronavirus infection, we created a model of cooperation with Germany [on creating conditions for safe tourism in Turkey]. We will go to Russia to talk about this model of cooperation.”

According to Mevlut Cavusoglu, representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism may also accompany the delegation of the Turkish Foreign Ministry on a trip to Russia.

At the same time, the Turkish minister noted that first the number of cases of coronavirus infection should decrease in Turkey. He also recalled that Ankara is waiting for the visit of a Russian delegation, which should get acquainted with the measures taken in the resort regions to ensure the safety of tourists.
