Doctors with the help of traditional Chinese medicine help residents of China to cope with postcovid syndrome In China, the number of patients who are suffering from coronavirus is decreasing, but many need medical help even after recovery.

Weakness, headache, memory impairment, hair loss, shortness of breath, cough, distortion of odors – this is what is called postcovid syndrome and what those who have just recovered from the coronavirus have to live with for several months. Traditional medicine helps the Chinese to cope with poor health faster.
For example, doctors at a hospital in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, teach patients the technique of "liu-ji-ju-e" – one of the forms of qigong gymnastics that combines breathing and motor exercises.

Zou Jingjing, Head physician of the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Suzhou: "Aerobic exercises help to improve the patient's respiratory function and physical abilities.
Low-intensity workouts are suitable for those who have just started playing sports after recovering from COVID-19. Such gymnastics can be practiced in any weather and in any place."

Zhang Godong, Deputy Head of the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Suzhou: "In traditional Chinese medicine, we use four diagnostic methods – we look, listen, ask questions and measure the pulse.
We also use medical equipment to make a diagnosis, and as a result we get a holistic view of the patient's condition. Based on this, we draw up an individual rehabilitation plan. For example, we prescribe the intake of certain herbal preparations to replenish energy and relieve cough. We also use therapeutic patches, moxibustion and acupuncture."

There are also special oxygen therapy centers in China that help patients with chronic lung diseases.

Xu Li, patient: "The tightness in the chest has now almost completely passed, and the head has become less dizzy.
I paid less than three yuan. Everyone who has medical insurance can afford such rehabilitation."

Shi Jiuming, Director of the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xiangcheng: "Oxygen therapy is convenient and affordable.
Qualified medical personnel work in the departments of our hospital, who monitor the condition of patients to ensure timely assistance if something suddenly goes wrong."

According to the World Health Organization, from 10 to 20 percent of those who have had the coronavirus experience postcovid syndrome. The Chinese health authorities have published a special guide to alleviate the condition of such patients.

Gennady Onishchenko praised China's success in the fight against coronavirus

China has invaluable experience in the fight against coronavirus. This opinion was expressed in an interview with CGTN by the epidemiologist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Onishchenko. He positively assessed the weakening of coronavirus restrictions by China, since the omicron strain, although spreading rapidly, does not have a high lethality. The expert also stressed that the measures taken by the PRC to counteract the pandemic did not have such a strong impact on the economy as in other countries: despite the fact that GDP growth rates have decreased in the last three years, they have remained positive.

The tourism industry is being restored in China

There is a real tourist boom in China during the New Year holidays. The inhabitants of the Celestial Empire travel around the country and visit other countries. This became possible due to the fact that China has optimized anti-bullying measures and reduced travel restrictions. According to the online agency "Tongcheng Travel", during the first three days of the weekend, the number of bookings in hotels and scenic spots across China more than doubled compared to the same period last year, and the sale of tickets for domestic flights increased by a third. Thus, 60% more guests arrived in the resort town of Sanya on Hainan Island than a year ago, and there are almost no empty rooms in popular hotels.

As for foreign holidays – here the indicators are really impressive. In just three days of holidays, the number of bookings for international flights has more than tripled compared to the same period last year.

The most popular destinations were Chinese Hong Kong and Macau, as well as neighboring Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia.

The cold weather has created mesmerizing icy landscapes

In the coastal city of Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, it has sharply cooled to minus 10 degrees Celsius – such temperatures are rarely recorded here, and the current figure has become a record in the coming year. Frosty weather has created fascinating pictures of ice in the Yellow Sea, which from a height resemble a forest landscape

A vast wave of cold that has swept through the northern regions of China in recent days has reached the Liaodong Bay. The ice formed on an area of almost 13,000 square kilometers, almost half of it is floating snow blocks. Liaodong Bay is the largest and longest of the three main bays of the Bohai Sea. It is usually covered with a thick layer of ice all winter.
