26 teams will take part in the "ArMI-2022" competitions in Kazakhstan.


The opening ceremony of the competitions of the Army International Games ("ArMI-2022") was held in the capital of Kazakhstan. 26 teams will take part in the games, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported on Saturday.


"Representatives of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the opening ceremony of ArMI-2022, held at the National Defense University," the message reads.


During the ceremony, the opening of the competitions of the Army International Games in Kazakhstan was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Ruslan Zhaksylykov. He noted that the war games have become a new symbol of cooperation, a pledge of peace and solidarity, have turned into a new form of interaction between the armies of various states.


"This year, three competitions are held in our country: "Masters of Artillery fire", "Meridian" and "Tactical shooter.“ Kazakhstan is hosting the last two for the first time. In total, the participating countries fielded 26 teams in three competitions," the Defense Ministry explained.


Competitions of mortar crews will unfold at the training ground in the Guards garrison of the Zhambyl region. In the city of Shchuchinsk, Akmola region, a competition of military topographers will be held at the Amandyk training ground. Competitions of army shooters will be held on the basis of the Spassk training center in the Karaganda region.


The Army International Games will be held from August 13 to 27 on the territory of 12 states. A total of 36 contests are planned to be held.
